Nick Starkey (Kevin Kline)
Nicholas "Nick" Starkey is a former New York cop, having quit the police force after a scandal two years ago. He has since been working with the New York fire department. His brother convinces him to temporarily come back to the police force, as a special investigator with the rank of lieutenant.
