Papa Mousekewitz (Nehemiah Persoff)
Papa is the doting father of three children, of which he is especially close to his only son. When he was a child himself, he lost both of his parents (at the same time) to cats. After his home is destroyed in a fire in 1885, he emigrates to the USA with his family, where he sets up a tailor shop.
