There are few movies that have totally suprised in me in the past but Rebecca is definetly one that succeeded my expectation the start up to the film was a little rushed, it would have been a bit better if we had more background knowledge of the main character however the fact that we never hear her name is an example how closed this character is, she is a very simple pretty girl nothing more nothing less, but her new surroundings are too much for her to lay back and sit out, this film has everything funny moments, scary moments, cringing moments, romance, and maybe the best twist in a movie since hollywood began.

This is one of the greats, All about eve portrays a girl wanting to make it on stage in the footsteps of her idol who befriends her (bette davis) and all is well with her life until her idol suspects shes is studying her to copy her talents which have taken her where she herself yearns to travel to, I shall say no more about the plot as I dont want to give too much away but i will say that this is a great film with a tremendous ending which nobody would have anticipated. this film is also the debut of Americas Sweetheart Marilyn Monroe. so in the words of miss Bette Davis herself "Fasten your seatbelts it's going to be a bumpy night"

Requiem for a dream will take on a ride of a life time, this is the first film that made feel as if i had taken drugs just by watching something the way this film is made is extraodinary and must not be watched when in a sleepy state as this will cause you to have nightmares as i experienced, however it shows the rise and fall of the drug takers and they fall pretty hard, but mostly i was affected by the mother (Ellen Burstyn) who becomes addicted to diet pills and becomes senile the scenes where she hallucinates are both dramatic and terrifying and will prevent from taking any sort of pill again, (im not sure if that is a good thing or not). but this film is definetly worth watching just not right before bed

Modern times is Chaplin in a nutshell (no self awareness, funny, sad, uplifting) the one thing you I remember from this film is Chaplins slapstick in the factory and the encounters with the girl which are some of the most beautiful scenes in cinema history, even though it's a silent picture the scenes with the girl say a thousand words more than the subtitles. this film is simply Chaplin

This film has to be in my top ten for the reason that it introduced me to classical music when I was a young boy and the music it contains i will always remember, the animation with the music fit soo well and will make you want to watch it forever. many people instantly think of mickey mouse and the brooms with this film however that has always been my least favourite part of the film, even though i still like it but there are so many parts of the film in which i find more enjoyable for example the flying horses is an amazing animation which fits soo well with beethoven, i secretly love this film because sister is terrified of the ostriches and ever so often i show her that clip on youtube, serves her right for putting on michael jackson thriller every day when i was five
