Modern Times (1936)

Chaplin at his best — Written by stevebayford on 29.11.2009

Modern times is Chaplin in a nutshell (no self awareness, funny, sad, uplifting) the one thing you I remember from this film is Chaplins slapstick in the factory and the encounters with the girl which are some of the most beautiful scenes in cinema history, even though it's a silent picture the scenes with the girl say a thousand words more than the subtitles. this film is simply Chaplin
