Mrs. Brisby is the widow of Jonathan Brisby and mother of their four children. She and her family live by a stone in Farmer Fitzgibbons' garden patch. In order to avoid the plough, she is seeking to move her house to the protective side of the stone, since her son Timothy is too ill to be moved.
