A good french movie, for a change, adapted from the Harlan Coben novel.
I had read the novel before I even knew that a movie would be made, and I must say that the adaptation is very good. The atmosphere is exactly reproduced, and the perfect acting of François Cluzet plunges us into his troubled trip towards truth as deeply as the reading of the novel.
Alexandre Beck (François Cluzet) is no Bruce Willis, he is a normal man. He is naive, he has weaknesses, and the direction of Guillaume Canet always reminds us that.
The sensation is increased with the splendid soundtrack of french artist Matthieu Chedid (a.k.a -M-).
The conclusion is not exactly the same as the novel's one, but it is very good anyway: we are kept in suspense until the very end, as well as the character himself.
To sum up, a very good film, unpretentious, without special effects but with enough action, enough rythm to keep the audience spellbound.
