Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)

reading a comic while watching a movie — Written by wind0 on 25.05.2011

This review won't be objective: I like Micheal Cera, i am a big fan of scott's comics and i'm pretty much of a nerd.

The first thing that I have to say: I've seen it 8 times and I keep catching hints everywhere.
Moreover: the movie is pretty much faithful toward the comic (Yes, the movie industry ain't the prostitute of litterature, but an accurate adaptation will obviously satisfy the fans of the original work).
Another good point: humourous geeky sauce is funny.

The visual (and special) effects are really nice, and give a "comic" effect to the film. In addition, the film is colorful (not like a speed-racer which cause your eyes to bleed, much more like a paprika), a choice of adaptation different from the one of Rodriguez in Sin City.

For the gamers (retrogamers mainly): hints are everywhere. It's really awesome to hear a Zelda sound when Scott finds something or whatever.

And here we are, on THE big point of the film: the soundtrack is just terrific! I can't stop listening it! It could be qualified of "strange punk". But it sounds great on the movie.

To conclude: this movie is awesome for those who love watching something different but still not really intellectual.
I love it: ten for me!
