The story is set in a country of snow and forests somewhere in the North. A family lives in an isolated house near a lake. Alexi is a young man with a pure heart. A woodcutter. Epileptic, he is very close to his younger sister, Hege. Their blind mother, their father and their little brother are witnesses to their love. A stranger arrives.
