The evil Decepticons once again try to find some potent artefact, which will bring death to all mankind, and they destroy anything in their path in order to get hold of it. Only the Autobots and their companion Sam can stop them.

Here it is: The long awaited (or dreaded) sequel to Transformers. Michael Bay picks up where he left off. Whilst the first part spread a feeling of novelty and to some extent nostalgia, at least to those who grew up in the eighties and early nineties, the second instalment offers a very improvised plot that only succeeds in laying the foundation for the humungous action scenes. Bay offers a generous compensation for his lack of originality by showing Megan Fox's curves in every other scene.
The acting by everyone involved is terrible, but to be fair it should be stated that the plot, dialogues and directing are so weak that noone receives a chance to fully display their skills.
The only enjoyable characteristic of the movie is the quality of the SFX. However, the action scenes (of which there are many) are so badly cut that it is difficult to make out any specific details of the Transformers and they too often merely look like moving masses of metal making their way through explosions and fire-barrages.

Despite all its shortcomings Revenge of the Fallen achieves its ultimate goal, which is to entertain. If you are bored on a Sunday afternoon, you won't go wrong watching it.
It's mindless popcorn-cinema and it's done by Michael Bay, so don't expect too much!
