The Sign of the Cross(1932)
Abstract
In ancient Rome two Christians are caught, when Marcus, the highest military official, comes along. Seeing their stepdaughter Mercia, he instantly falls in love and frees them. Marcus pursues Mercia, which gets him into trouble with the Emperor for being lenient with Christians as well as with the Empress, who loves him and is jealous.
