I watched it at a festival without knowing much about what it was about. It's shocking to say the least and I definitely wouldn't have watched it if I knew the content...
However, the film is surprisingly well thought out and the photography is, in contrast to the theme, extremely delicate. Colors help tell the story and this delicacy brings the unexpected - and also helps to build the visual and psychological shock of "internal rot"/pulse of death vs the color of life. Monika's apartment is somehow a place i would like to live, as it seems to be so clean and with so much life. But underneath her darkness takes place - and it's under the skin, it's something inside her, of who she is. I find it to be so intresting to be portrait in that way, it was definately the right direction for me.
