On June 3, 1835, Pierre Riviere, a young Norman peasant, assassinates his mother, sister and brother. After the run for several weeks, the young man is arrested, he confesses. During his incarceration, he wrote an important paper in which he recounts his life and tries to explain the reasons for his actions.
