Abstract
In the north of the Netherlands a 200 km ice-skating race is held every year. It must be completed by midnight and everyone who finishes receives a medal. Based on a true story about the race of 1963 when, due to plunging temperatures, thousands of skaters suffered frostbite and shocking injuries. Only a small number would cross the finish-line.
