Storyline: It is based on an epic adventure of Greek mythology. Rather interesting I will tell you... In fact it is a complete failure. We are bored a lot but we laugh too. The journey is not very interesting. It goes from one point to another with a battle each time (scorpions, horses, witches ...). The dialogues are funny because of their stupidity, the appearances of Hades are hilarious instead of being frightening and the hero barely speaks. Nothing is developed (neither the kraken, nor Medusa, nor the relations between the gods and a lot of other things) and fortunately the love story is not developed! Still waiting. Some companions of Perseus die and we do not even know who they are. The final battle gives the feeling to end in 10 seconds. Surprising!
Characters: First Perseus is played by Sam Worthington,. This actor has the charisma of an oyster and gives the impression of being a GI during Antiquity (jarhead hairdress, no facial expression...). The secondary characters are useless because their personalities are not developed. They simply say a few jokes and use a sword. When I saw the cast and readed "Ralph and Liam", I thought "Woah! Great actors! I love them!!!". But in the end they look ridiculous and underexploited. Instead of being impressive Gods, they seem ill-at-ease in this role. They were a better couple in "Schindler's List"!
Costumes: Some dresses and shinny armors that are more reminiscent of the disco years. For the background, it seems that the director has made the task easier (desert, forest, mountains). However the city is well built.
Special Effects: To sum up they do not help the film. One exception: The introduction of the film (with the stars) is beautiful. The giant scorpions and other creatures are a half success (Pegasus gives the impression of a movie for young children). The appearance of the title "Clash of the Titans" is composed of an effect "After Effects" with a thunderbolt very basic and ugly. Avoid it! We see however that the French director had a very important budget. But he should have more detail the story instead of getting lost in there.
What good do a sequel with this? Nothing ... 3/10
