hey hey, thanks a lot for your advices...I will try to have a look for these books, even I am not a big reader (simply no time for it)... :)

i found the wiki link you given me and some later this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0944947 tv series 2011, i am sure the series is not translated in german now, i think i would seen a trailer if it already started here in germany, but the pictures looks nice. I think i will give it a chance, if it starts somehow in germany.

I like fantasy stuff, but i am not a book reader. I like more watching tv :) I am a big fan of LotR. I watch less knowner and less good stuff too, something like Legend of the Seeker is not really good, but i still watched all episodes

Purtroppo, soprattutto a causa dell'assurda e dolosa presenza del nome degli uploaders i risultati (quali immagini vengono accettate e gli SOTD) spessissimo non riflettono la qualità oggettiva delle immagini ma sono frutto di altri fattori quali la reputazione dell'autore, i voti di scambio, le amicizie e le antipatie... Insomma, purtroppo tutto il mondo e' paese, anche su WTM! :(
Posso solo dirti di NON fare come me, dando battaglia per rendere il processo di voto più imparziale e credibile, perché l'unico risultato che ho ottenuto e' di farmi molti nemici tra i "senatori" del sito, con conseguente e perdurante drastico abbassamento delle medie voto delle mie immagini (ultimamente sono ridotto a postare snapshots da film mainstream x fare qualche punto, perché appena provo con immagini un po' particolari e meno note vengo subito punito dai "nemici" e non aiutato dai moderatori).
Tu sopporta l'ipocrisia, mantieni rapporti cordiali con tutti, complimentati con chi ha successo, costruisciti una reputazione con tante belle immagini e confermo la mia previsione di un tuo radiosissimo futuro come utente WTM! :)
Per parte mia, dopo un anno intenso ormai trascorso da quando ho iniziato a giocare, dopo più di 300 immagini accettate, qualche SOTD e le eroiche e suicide battaglie (perse) per cercare di rendere il sito davvero credibile con le necessarie modifiche alla procedura di voto, al momento sono un po' svuotato, a livello di motivazioni: non escludo di prendermi a breve una bella pausa di riflessione... Ciao! :)

You missed my point.
It was not about what you wrote. It was about bringing that thread back up, a thread that does contain suspicion, resentment and, yes, a light form of paranoia. And even if you consider that as being some wrongful reading, it is a fact that some people do perceive it that way. Which is not good for WTM. Yet I'm aware (and glad) not everybody does. Plus some important things are mentioned in that thread, that's why it's not closed nor sinked.
About me "taking a crack at guessing what others think or feel" and not being legitimate to do so, allow me to comment that (even if you consider the book should already be closed):

1. There is no legitimacy matter here. I'm allowed to make guesses, just as anyone else. You're allowed to think those guesses are rubbish. Just keep in mind that, as a moderator (for 9 whole years now), I've read tons of shouts you'll never even see (because some were deleted since, by those who wrote them). As a consequence, I do know a little more than you about the state of mind of users (past and present, plus people I tried to lured into registering to WTM).
2. Those were only assumptions about why some users might have changed their rating on your shot. The 3 possibilities I listed are only possibilities, and I made it clear that there were obvioulsy others I couldn't think of (because I'm not a mind reader). The point being: people change their votes, for perfectly legitimate reasons. And this point seemed important since your forum post asked: "Does that mean someone who already voted returned to the shot to change their rating?", and stated: "From an ethical standpoint I do think these observations should be mentioned and reviewed though". So, again, to make it clear: Yes, 4 people changed their votes. I have no idea why, but for 3 of them, it was obviously not ill-intended, therefore perfectly legitimate. The last one is being monitored.

Hi. I'm so mad at the system! Today I had to argue with everybody and I lost. The only two choices that they offer me for the conclusion of the course are these: either I state as my personal point of view that 'The Black Swan" is the golden key, the crown of Thomas Mann's life and that he wrote his best novel and had the joy of seeing it published one year before his death; or I need to say that it is something mediocre and that he should have never written it. There is no third possible position. (have you read it? It is one of the less known of Thomas Mann's novels). I don't know what to do. I liked 'The Black Swan, so I can't say that it is a bad novel. But I consider others, as, for instance, your favorite 'Magic Mountain', 'Tonio Kroeger and my favorite 'Joseph and his Brothers, or 'The Buddenbrooks' on a higher level. I don't understand why I need to lie.
I'm studying Literature and not trying to become a politician, for whom the only art is to lie.
And now I have no time to change the Author.
If I decided for Virgina Wool, of whom you spoke, for instance, I would need to be prepared to read almost all her books (I remember that I already read Mrs. Dalloway but I'll need to re-read it) and many others, and then I would need too learn all about her and try to give an explanation about her suicide, and all this til the beginning of December.
Jesus, I have no prejudice aginst a plot about a 50 years old widow falling in love to a 23 years old guy. But being forced to say that the book is better than the Magic Mountain is something that goes againt my real belief.
Sorry for exploding like this but I think that you are very bright and clever and perhaps would know what to do in my place. I apologize in advance if you think I am being a intruder and I will understand if you don't answer me. It is time to start to walk on my own feet.
Thank you for your suggestions. 'To the Lighthouse' will be my next novel to read, but first I will need to decide what I need to do.
Jesus, I wouldn't like to quit Thomas Mann, but I'm feeling trapped!
