I just saw G.I. Joe, and I must say that I actually enjoyed it. This is NOT a masterpiece. This is a fun, Summer action flick. The so-called professional critics who obviously miss that point do not deserve their cushy jobs. The action is unbelievable, non-stop, breathless, and requires a total suspension of disbelief. The critics that have a problem with that should remember one thing. This is a movie based on a cartoon that's sole purpose was to sell a set of toys to 5-12 year old boys. Nothing more. Expecting "War and Peace" from this source material shows a lack of insight and intelligence from most of the reviews that I have read. If you like action films, you will enjoy this one. If you want angst-ridden characters stopping every five minutes to discuss their feelings... pull the stick out and move along to a sappy low-budget romance; this isn't your kind of film.

Downloading Nancy has been unfairly dismissed as torture porn. Let me start by saying that this is a bad movie, but I can certainly see what drew the talent (Maria Bello, Jason Patric, Amy Brenneman & Rufus Sewell) to the material. The film tries to explore how 15 years of a loveless marriage can drive a victim of childhood sexual abuse to seek escalating painful and demeaning experiences, either alone or at the hands of others. yet, I still can't think of any reason why someone should see this movie.

It's great when its characters break down that fourth wall on multiple occasions. It's also great when something that originated in a sketch can be stretched to feature length without losing its touch or having to rely on running-gags just to keep it going. Wayne's World is just fun from start to finish, and never takes itself seriously enough to fail. It also helps that Mike Myers was still owned by SNL and didn't have complete creative control over the films writing. There are some really funny supporting characters that never overstay their welcome on screen. You almost wish the film were longer and we had more time to see Wayne and Garth go around Aurora, IL some more. This movie is great for any comedy fan of good music and happy endings.

No plot - no character interaction or motivation - no back story - no explanations - hundred year old vampires die at the hands of a newb rogue with the mere stroke of the screenwriters pen not to mention the lack of being able to defend themselves or fight back - throw in a mysterious "Yoda" figure... this movie is almost a waste of a written review if it hadn't pissed me off so much. It almost seems like it would have been better to leave the whole vampire thing out of it and just have it be a woman revenge movie. Michael Chiklis didn't seem at all a grief-stricken father, he seemed genuinely embarrassed to be associated with this project. If you want something to compare this to, imagine The Crow 2 but with vampires. Yes, it's that bad.
