We start interestingly in the Middle-East with two men in a car attempting to obtain intelligence from the locals, which are suspected of terrorism. The operation blows up and their cover is blown resulting in the terrorists wanting to destroy everything by throwing the data in the fire and letting the house explode. In this explosion, one of the agents is badly hit and eventually dies.
The film centers around Roger Ferris, a CIA field agent that throughout starts realizing he is replaceable, and CIA officer Ed Hoffman that is co-ordinating operations from Langley. Ferris is sent to Jordan to co-operate with Jordan Intelligence in order to find a terrorist called Al-Saleem that has been regularly bombing cities both domestic and internationally. The leader of Jordan intelligence is Hani, played by Mark Strong. Mark Strong plays extremely well in this movie as the intelligence officer that is willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done, but does this as a man of honor, who only has one rule, which is: "Never lie to me.".
Ed Hoffman is played by Russell Crowe, who also convinces me as the hard man, consciouslessly deciding about the fate of others without getting his hands dirty, which utterly annoys Ferris, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. This movie very well displays how the CIA does not care at all about how things happen, as long as the result is there, and of course I don't know if this happens for real too, but it is very entertaining to watch. Good story, good acting, good movie. 9/10
