Pierre who used to be a rich industrialist is now ruined. A widower, he lives with his daughter Evelyne. He pretends he is persecuted by his cousin Edgar and gets in touch again with another cousin, Bernard, a millionaire who is also a victim of Edgar. Soon after, Bernard dies of poison, which is only the first of a series of acts of violence.
