I don't know what it is about this movie, but every time it comes on I just have to watch it. I thought it was a new fresh way to present the old "hotshot gets taken down a notch by being too cocky, but ends up saving the day in the end after ending up in what was supposedly a serene, nice town now
I don't know what it is about this movie, but every time it comes on I just have to watch it. I thought it was a new fresh way to present the old "hotshot gets taken down a notch by being too cocky, but ends up saving the day in the end after ending up in what was supposedly a serene, nice town now taken over by some baddies" routine. Freakin' great cinematography and great performances by Bruce Willis and Ben Foster make this movie really fun. There wasn't really any lame moments in this film and really its just plain awesome entertainment. People get shot, things get blown up and there is also a nice twist that results in Brucey having to play both sides of the field to avoid his family getting shanked. Nothing really new here, but the pacing is what really sets this movie. Plus Ben Foster plays freaky to a capital F. Walter's awesome twist in the end puts the Coconut frosting on this German Chocolate cake. Mmmm...my favorite.
Like I said: strong acting, great cinematography and composition of scenes (countless stills I could take and post on here), breathless pacing and gritty action make this movie a good rent when you just want to not think too hard and see more mayhem.
