• New horror genre? — for The Descent

  I chose The Descent as my first movie review. And the reason is simple, when i saw the first image on WTM i went berserk!

  I am an horror movie fan, but i think that, exactly like the "rock" genre in music, the horror genre became too wide. And i think The Descent is one of those movies which actually created a new genre stepping out of the common horror rules.
  I wont say too much about it as i absolutely dont want to ruin the movie. But the fact that there are only girls in the movie, for example, completely change the atmosphere. They dont act like men do and dont act like superman.
  In The Descent everything is based on claustrophobia and i must say that even well sited in my living room, i found myself having hard time breathing just like them!

  Did i mention that the movie is beautiful? The use of colors is amazing!

  I dont want to say too much, i can only advise you ta watch it completely in the dark!

  And if you loved it, the sequel is coming ....
  

• was the movie made for the music? — for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

  I wanted to write that review because i heard a lot people telling me that they tried to enter in that movie but that it was too slow and they had to stop.
  Yeah this movie is slow but you have to give it time, to immerse yourself in the atmosphere.

  It s beautiful movie, incredibly well written and edited. It s full of emotions and really show some hidden, and hopefully true, facts of Jesse James' life.

  One last thing very very important to me is the music. It almost like the movie was edited to fit the music and not the other way around. It is not that often that the music takes such a part in the movie, and that gives me the thrill!
