The old renowned Landboskole is spreading a new team of Agricultural Candidates after completing the Course.

Landowner Munk has problems – he cherishes his wild moorland and does not want to parcel it out. His friend Martin Hald tries to mediate, but in vain. At the same time, Munk is worried about his nephew Jørgen, who grew up with him. He is in prison – convicted on false grounds.

Due to his gambling addiction, farmer Hans Sværke has brought his farm to the brink of bankruptcy, thereby opening up the opportunity for the wealthy landowner Karius to achieve his goal of taking over the farm. However, parish bailiff Mikkelsen vouches for Sværke and saves him for the time being, and Sværke then leases the farm.

Martin the vagabond is cheerful and musical like few others. Together with his new friend Anders, he sings his way to a meal and a place to sleep. During a performance, Anders meets the daughter of Bakkegaarden, whose mother has been a widow for a long time and may have a past with Martin.

Martin inherits a fishing boat and a house in a small town in Denmark. He employs the old employee Mikkel and nephew Anders who likes a girl at Møllegården. Martin likes another girl there. Smugglers are active in the area.

Martin returns home with a good sum of money in his pocket after working in Greenland. He settles down with his sister, who runs the inn – but much has changed. He is most disappointed that his childhood sweetheart Martha has married Just Hovmand, who owns the Lunehøj farm.

Somewhere on the island of Funen, where the hedgerows surround the meandering fields, lies Uglegaarden. It is the largest and richest farm in the parish, and is owned by the widow Dora and her three brooding stepsons Karl, Viggo and Thomas.

A folk comedy set in a village on the island of Zealand, where a powerful and dishonest businessman tries to trick the traditional owner out of his farm, Svanegården. The businessman wants to sell it to the Germans, but a group of brave people and couples in love manage to prevent this from happening.

Werner (William Rosenberg) is an inspector for group of farmes called Digeskov. Left alone by Digeskovs owner, Werner is tricking small neighboring farmes out of there land. The owners doughter find out and stops Werner and she falls in love with a young poor farmer from a neighbor farm.

A rich relative of the Martin family returns to Denmark from USA to buy Vingården and continue the cherry wine production instead of allowing 3 greedy, dishonest men turn it into building lots.
