Tech: Blu-ray drive for Mac?
I hope some of you will be able to answer me.
So far I'm playing DVDs on my MacBookPro and I would like to switch on BR discs without buying a new laptop. Does any of you know if it is possible to play BR with an external BR drive? Any tip, advice, preference?
Thank you very much in advance
P.S.: hope it's OK to post here!
Yes, it's possible. I have many BDs, so I was wondering about how to play them in my mac. I have discovered the solution, but my sister bought a PC with BD player, so I gave up.
So this is the solution to your problem, @Macmono : buy an external BD drive and Mac Blu-Ray Player app. This app is fucking fantastic.
You (normally) would have to pay for the app.. but you can have it for free here: == ASMODAI EDIT: No links to sites that contain illegal info, please ==

I hope it helps.
ps: you will need a mac with USB 3.0 to obtain the best performance of the player.
I have a MacBook Pro notebook and with it I regularly use, without problems, the following:
HARDWARE - LG External Blu-ray Disc Rewriter: http://www.lg.com/us/data-storage/lg-BE08LU20
SOFTWARE - Mac Blu-ray Player: http://www.macblurayplayer.com
It's a great system to take high quality snapshots from Blu-rays (i.e. http://whatthemovie.com/shot/271502 )... :)
