On my side, of course I know the Bayern München! And I know Müller, too, though let me tell you my favourite BM star is Lothar Matthaeus, since I'm of his generation (he's a couple of years older than me, actually :). We used to watch German football matches on TV on Sunday mornings many years ago, and I liked his performances very much. He holds the record of having played in 5 World Cups!
I've been in München ... in 1989. I loved the city, the whole Bayern area is so beautiful. While I'm here writing I can see over the window by me the curtains I bought at the Kaufhof at the Marienplatz. It was a great, unforgettable trip.
My daughters have attended the Deutsche Schule here in Montevideo, our capital city, since Kindergarten. So imagine, I'm quite familiar with Germany! Though I can speak only a few words! The girls have taken part in a school's project called "Kindercamp", which takes place in Marquartstein. There's a place there called Sonnenhof, where they spend 2 weeks with their classmates and a few teachers. They go to school (to practice their German and to see how it works) and they visit many places. They travel at the age of 12, so imagine how great it is for our children. My eldest daughter finished the Abitur last year, but before that, when she was 16 she went to Leverkussen on an exchange trip. She stayed two months there and loved the place. She fell in love with Berlin, too!
She's at University now, and in a couple of years she'll have an exchange semester, she's trying to decide whether to go to Germany or to UK. We'll see.
Being all that said, what you should do in your first visit to Uruguay is to visit us! You could speak German with the girls :)
We are only 3 million people in the country; we like to say all of us are more or less like the population of a neighbourhood in great Sao Paulo. That is why it is so great for us to win such a football Cup or anything: for every Uruguay national team, Brazil could have at least 70 of the same kind.
Our main export products are commodities: meat, leather, wool, wheat, soy, rice, corn, etc. There are some other industries, mainly tourism, and we have an emerging software industry.

You'll see great, white sanded beaches. There is an intense night life at the place (I'm not a night-life person at all !, but I'm thinking of a person of your age), and I think it's great fun for young people, while a more quiet person can have a good time, too. That's for summer only! (Dec-Feb).
