Released a while after the end of the homonymous sitcom, Os Normais (So Normal, in a few countries) had to put in a lot of effort to be as funny, if not funnier, than the 20-minutes episodes people were used to.

Telling the story of how Rui (Luiz Fernando Guimarães) and Vani (Fernanda Torres) met and later got engaged,the movie follows the same scheme as the sitcom: foul-mouthed, heavily sexual-orientated jokes and nonsensical situations.

Some may say the movie relies too much on the explicit humor and use of foul language but that's the way the characters were portrayed since the comedy show aired for the first time in 2001. Since it was made for television though, they were usually more "polite" per se, but had nothing to hold it back when it hit the big screen.

Despite the fact that the entire movie narrates exclusively the night both protagonists ran into each other, it doesn't get boring at all. The pace is fast and laugh after laugh you just can't stop wondering what other crazy shit is gonna happen afterwards. It ends joyfully though, with the couple getting rid of their respective fiancés and starting a relationship.

All in all, the movie definitely delivered what it proposed without giving you the impression of watching a stretched sitcom episode.
